Help with U3 Playback Speed Feature

Hi all, I am having trouble with the "Play Speed" feature on my U3.

I am attempting to listen to some audiobooks and increase the play speed, however, though the values change (up to 10, and down to -2), there appears to be no discernable effect at all on my 20KB/22KH .wma audiobook encoding but it will play higher bitrate music .mp3's speed-up? Is there a listing of what will/will not work with the play speed feature so I don't wast time encoding to a format that is not supported (specifically for audio-CD conversions)?

This feature worked well on my U2 and was one of the features I was looking forward to on my new U3. Is it just me or are others experiencing the same?

I am running firmware 1.29.

Menu->Settings->JetEffect->Play Speed
