Default Any way to sync with iTunes?

Hello everyone~

I just got my P2 today and I'm very excited to use it.
The thing is, when I add my music using the Samsung Media Studio...the tags are messed up.
I really want to sync myP2 with iTunes since all the tags and stuff on there are correct and are with album art.

Is there a way to sync my music using iTunes?

no i strongly doubt it and it might go your P2 go haywire, unless you reprogram itunes...

Just to verify for the OP -- yes, you can sync your P2 with iTunes.

First, it only works when the P2 is in UMS mode (as a storage device). For info on how to accomplish that, read this thread.

Once you're in UMS mode, download an application called iTunes Sync and install it on whatever computer you have iTunes installed on.

When your P2 is connected to your computer, you can configure some basic things in iTunes Sync -- tell it which iTunes playlist to use, what folder to put it in (\music\) and what you want to call your device.

Start iTunes, then run iTunes Sync. It basically copies the files in an iTunes playlist to the specified folder on your device. It's been really easy and useful for me as I have all my music in iTunes. For reference purposes, I'm on XP Pro using iTunes 7.1.1.5, iTunes Sync 1.5.0 and my P2 firmware is set to v1.2 Korean. HTH!

No answer for that yet. I literally got my P2 a few hours ago and I've only used iTunes to transfer a few gigs worth of MP3s to the P2's \music directory.

I can tinker with it some more during the week and see what else it can do. Does datacast mean podcast or is something different?

I'm also hoping to figure out how to use playlists when it's in disk mode (without using WMP or SMS software). My playlists just say "no file" or something -- what sort of file belongs there? M3U or something proprietary?

Stupid question, but can I use the music I purchase off of Itunes on my P2? I am wondering what service to go with, Napster, Rhapsody, etc. I thought I had to wait for AAC support to use music from itunes.

agreed, but...

I've tried using Samsungs media studio for a couple days, I've used iTunes for podcast, about a year. When it comes to podcasts/datacasts iTunes' GUI is much better. Sammys media studio has all the info there, but it's not well organized, and not as easy to update and use. JMHO.

My P2 is coming tomorrow and I'm sure hoping I can find a way to sync my podcasts with iTunes (for now). I would really prefer Sammy Media Studio GUI got some updates so I could use that. istuff = I want Jobs to do my thinking for me.

Anyone who actually care about audio quality, paying for a product, the artwork and/or like albums in general, perhaps?

Good for you

Anyway, iTunes is rather good as a sorting tool on a Mac. Although, currently, I'm actually trying to make Bridge (CS3) work for all my needs across the board as iTunes has become rather bloated, imo.

It's like safari, it sucks on the Windows-side of things, is pretty good on the Mac (although Omniweb is better), and like WMP, firefox and so on is great on a windows machine yet sucks arse on the Mac (yes, it does. I'm all sore for trying, haha).

Did you know that 1% of people actually purchase their music and videos from itunes. It was on CNN.

There is no point. You pay for good quality music and a nice picture with it.

Whereas downloading will sometimes get you the same quality and you can tag the song yourself.

Your point being? As it is, lossy formats sucks, and especially at a thinning rate of 1:11.

Really? And this is coming from a guy who downloads his music off of youtube of all places?

As much as I hate the quality of iTunes Store-bought music, you are utterly wrong.

But then again, you also thinks that the headphones that comes with the P2 is "awesome", so you propably can't tell the difference, no matter what is playing.
I'm almost willing to bet you cannot tell the difference between a 32kbps MP2 and an uncompressed rip from a CD.
