Anyone have any experience replacing the battery on a T9?
I've got a dead one.. nephew shorted it by leaving it outside in the rain for three days, then overheating it with a hair-dryer..sigh. As an aside, he has also run it through the wash in his pants pocket a total of three times. Tough little player... It amazingly still works when powered by USB.. and will show charging, but the batt won't hold a charge. So I'm in search of a battery replacement. Any ideas would be appreciated. I'd rather do it myself and not send it back to Samsung.

You might want to make sure the battery connection on the board isn't shorted. That would easily account for a 'non-working' battery.
I've had car remote fobs go through the wash and end up with bridged connections from detergent residue and lint. |

G'day all,
Firstly thanks for everyone's input which has helped me. It seems my T9's battery is dead as I can only use it when powered by my PC connected via USB cable. Even after it shows it's been fully charged, no sign of it even attempting to turn on. I figured the player should be okay though since it still works normally when connected to PC. I had to do a bit of hunting for a replacement battery since the shipping cost is $40 AUS if you purchase it from Samsung's US site linked to earlier > http://www.samsungparts.com/Products...code=&cpncode= Eventually I found the same battery priced at $14.79 US ($18 AUS) from Battery Bay which includes free shipping! http://www.batterybay.net/Samsung-YP...gcs-smt9sl.htm It's just been shipped so i'm keen to receive it, 4 to 12 business days til arrival in the great land of OZ. When I have it installed and.. hopefully working.. i'll let you all know! Hope this helps and good luck to everyone! ![]() Last edited by Aussie Steve; 06-19-2010 at 04:56 AM.
