Default could anyone explain how to use last.fm with rockbox/sansa e250?

or, how to scrobble for dummies...

my sansa e250 just arrived today and the first thing i did was install rockbox. could anyone explain or point me in the direction of help re:last.fm? i've been googling for awhile now and quite honestly i don't "get it"...i'm not quite computer savvy enough.

from what i can gather, rockbox automatically creates a log file and then i upload that to last.fm using a website?

Exactly right. Nothing difficult

Search through the options (I think it's under Sound Settings and set it to create last.fm logs)

Use Google, and find that site to upload to your account

Done

I use this web form to upload.

Handy.
Although you do have to trust it with your last.fm login

I use Qtscrobbler for uploading - it supports 1.2 protocol (avoids problems when using last.fm software also on computer) http://sourceforge.net/projects/qtscrob/

I use logscrobbler, it's a small program that takes up barely any room or ram and works great.

Any idea how I could get scrobbler-cli (or any other scrobble uploader) to run automatically when I connect my Sansa to the PC?

(I'm using Ubuntu 7.10)

I'm trying this now, my logscrobbler rarely works anymore without an error message and lagging.

Once you enable scrobbling in rockbox, it will create one for you, then you just need some sort of client to get the log to last.fm. I use the aforementioned QtScrobbler, it's easy peasy and installs on windows and linux, a neccessity for me.
