All older Zenses versions are beta releases so expect bugs and errors. Versions 0.2 and 0.1.7c are the most recent and stable versions so I recommend either one of those.

• Creative Zen Micro - Reported to work, but only with the PlaysForSure firmware update
• Microsoft Zune (all generations) - Zenses 0.1.4 and 0.2 only

• Cowon iAudio D2 (switch to MTP mode)

I use 1.7c & I've never had a problem, I love it. And thanks so much for the feedback about 0.2 not always sending tracks, some people have mentioned this problem and I wasn't sure where it was happening. I wish Daryl who developed the program would've had time to fix the bugs with 0.2 before he disappeared. Let's hope version 0.3 will fix those.

Anybody having luck with the Sandisk Sansa Clip? I've tried using 0.1.7 C, and it picks up the player and scans the files, but there's nothing to submit to last.fm!

Do you have the requirements?

Requirements

Microsoft .NET 2.0, 3.0 Framework or higher
Windows Media Player 11

Before installation you have to have the latest Microsoft .NET 2.0 or 3.0 Framework and Windows Media Player 11 installed on your computer before Zenses will even run. You'll get an error trying to run Zenses without either of these installed.

If for some reason you can't install either of these then unfortunately you won't be able to use Zenses at all.

And I'd like to add that there are now a few developers at work on a new version that will be cross-platform. Expected release is Summer 2009. Check the Last.fm group every now and then: http://www.last.fm/group/Zenses

This is weird. I get regular audio files to work in Zenses, but the video files are just ignored.
I've tried on Zune and Creative Zen, but the video parts are ignored.

Anyone know how to get Zenses to get the same info about the video files as with the audio files?

Zenses only fetches audio track playcounts.

Mmm no idea, do you have one? If you do I would try 0.2 and see what happens. It should in theory find your player, scan the tracks, then list what you've listened to in a window. Let me know if you have any luck.
