History
Daryl Rowland (an ABI member) is the original developer of Zenses and had a website devoted to the project. But in April 2007 just a few months after launching the program and site he abandoned the project for whatever reason. I had started a Zenses Last.fm group around that time mainly for the last.fm users. Luckily I started the group because I couldn't get ahold of Daryl and also couldn't find any Zenses related sites. Since April the group has grown to 500 members and has been the only place to download the source and beta versions, let alone a place to discuss, ask questions, etc. EnzoTen was kind enough to offer a new forum for Zenses and from here on out will be the official forum. Future In the last few months a couple Last.fm members have showed interest in picking up development. adamlivesley is currently in the last stages of a new version built from the ground up using C++ and QT4 that promises to be cross-platform and hopefully supports more devices than the beta versions (fingers crossed). I personally haven't had the chance to see or try it, so I'm not sure exactly what he has in mind. I think he's planning on just Last.fm support and not trying to build upon what Daryl was shooting for with "Recently Added Playlists" and the mysterious "My Player" tab. He also mentioned a new Zenses website upon launch of the version and he even said he's going to change the name of the program. *edit* - Adam has recently told me a fellow programmer who was helping him dropped out of the project. So what this means is it's just him and it's going slow at this point since he's also a full time student. I'm hoping the new version will be available sometime in 2008. As soon as he releases the new version I will sticky a new download thread.
