The ground is the large metallic part of the connector. Solder all three negative wires (L, R and video) to this.

OK guys, I have my USB cable and my video out cable. Has anyone made a video out cable that charges yet?
I am wondering if I can get away using the USB cable and just modify the ends, or will I need additional wires than what the USB has? I am not about to cut up my usb cable, I have another one on order so I am not sure at the moment. |

Do share....
I want to make up a cable for my car to get the audio (L & R) out, and to charge at the same time. I tried this once, and the connector I used was crap, and I kept getting shorting, and issues with my View. I get the pinouts, I've even done soldering. Is there a connector/cable that has all of the appropriate wires included, and in place already? I get that a USB cable really only has four wires. It appears at least, that the original USB cable that came with my View is fully populated with pins, whereas one of the cheap ones I bought only had pins enough for the charging function it was intended for. |
