Default Song interrupts

Hi,

I'm using Rockbox on my european fm sansa e260.
Since a couple of days when I start the player the first song interrupts for 1-2 seconds. Then plays on. Then interrupts again...and so on for 4 or 5 times.
I thought it could be a problem with the rockbox version so I upgraded...nothing. And I downgraded...nothing.
After 4 or 5 times interrupting it plays fine for as long as I listen.
Does anyone has the same problem? Hardware? Software?

If I start the player and he doen't resume a song I was listening to it is the menu that freezes for seconds. Probably the same bug.

Greets
Randolph

What type of files are you trying to play?

Try deleting your .rockbox folder and installing the latest plain SVN build from rockbox.org.

I have had that problem for since installing Rock in June. Turn off crossfeed. Your Sansa like mine probably hates crossfeed.

I'm having this problem, but only with .m4a files. Setting crossfeed to "No" doesn't seem to help.

Are they AAC or AAC+ files? The CPU in the Sansa isn't fast enough to do AAC+ in real time, so they will skip.

Thanks for the answers so far!

Crosfeed is turned off.
I use mp3 and ogg...no aac or m4a.

The fact that the player stucks when I turn it on even if I don't hear music seems to tell me that it has nothing to do with the type of file I'm using.

I did delete the rockbox directory and tried a plain SVN build...no difference.

What I didn't try is to use the OF. Perhaps I should.

But it'S good to see that I'm not the only one with this problem.

Keep on finding out what's the cause of this beaviour. :-)

Greetings
Sebastian

I started seeing this happening yesterday on my own personal build. The weird thing is that I'd been using it for five days. It only began after I changed out a lot of music and put on a large number of relatively small (but high bit-rate) MP3s. The memory was close to full, making me think that was the issue, so I removed some files but it persisted.

Not only do MP3s stop and start for me, but the Sansa is overall very sluggish and non-responsive at times. I've had a few freezes too.

Try the October 24 build and see if it works better. The entire playback system was rewritten with the MOB patch on the 25th. There may be some unresolved issues.

There is an issue I believe with the Rockbox build at present. Have a look at the comments posted in the thread Compiled Rockbox: kugel branch I believe that the issue may be similar.

This is EXACTLY the same problem I am having.

However, I am using a normal SVN build, and no custom builds.

The point is: all the shluggishness and start-stop-behaviour only happens in the first ca. 2 minutes after switching the sansa on. After this "warming phase" everything is as it should.

That really did the trick! No sluggishness, no start-pause-problem.
Problem solved. Thanks a lot, saratoga!
