Default SanDisk sues LG, 24 others for patent infringement

The title saids it all. Here are the articles:

http://www.macworld.com/news/2007/10...disk/index.php

http://news.yahoo.com/s/zd/20071025/...yS98K7nlME1vAI

and here is the Slashdot discussion thread:

http://hardware.slashdot.org/hardwar.../1747204.shtml

If they succeed, this could have major impact in the Flash based DAP market place.

If you've been thinking of buying a few flash cards, I'd buy them before the price hikes start...

Nice. If you can't beat your competition in a fair market, beat 'em in court.

I wonder what exact patents SanDisk is claiming had been infringed...

SanDisk is already one (if not the most) of the most successful manufacturers in flash cards. I guess they want to "destroy" the competition (that isn't fair but hey...this is business). I hope they don't win, since it would be terrible for the overall flash market...

Yes, competition for them means competitive pricing for us.

Haha, even though those industries are competitive, somethings still slip. I remember a few years ago when flash card makers were sued for fixing the prices. Anyone remember that, or am i going crazy?

I've always bought SanDisk cards and USB sticks, the speed, quality and durability of them is unmatched. I'm glad to see they're getting back what's rightfully theirs, but I'm not too pleased that our dirt cheap cards may not be so cheap in the near future.
