Zune Insider tested battery life on the 2nd Generation Zunes: Zune 4 GB and Zune 8 GB were rated at 24 hours for audio and 4 hours for video; Zune 80 GB will have longer battery life for audio (30 hours) and the same 4 hours for video, according to the article.
The test was made with pre-production hardware and software, Wi-Fi turned off, 128 kbits/s WMA files for audio playback and 500 kbps WMV files for video playback. [ Zune Insider ]

This is good, I'll probably get this over the iPod classic.

if they add customizable EQ and delete on the go then this will be one hell of a DAP (for me).
i've finally made up my mind.. i'm getting one when they're released.

Great life on the Zune 80 there. I wonder if the new firmware has anything to do with it?

Hey guys, with the Zune pag, its also touch and click, but when you select sumthing, is the middle of the touch pad clicky or a touch? So is it like normal zoon or like a zen or something?
I hope that makes sense. |

I hope that Microsoft continues to update the software with new features every so often like they do with their Xbox 360.

Yes, testing with 128k WMA isn't exactly a "real world" test. It's also worth considering how often you switch tracks, turn on the screen, change volume, etc.
