Yeah, they didn't release a specific date, just casual monthly periods of when they are expected to be released.
Inevitably, when it first comes out, there'll b some problems with the FW and might take longer to correct these problems. Rob |

All the features I’d like:
-virtual keyboard -touch games -shuffle all songs option -remember song after shut off -voice + FM recording -calculator -smoother scrolling -customizable swipe direction -full screen visualizations -more menu styles -change color of menu styles -be able to see exact battery life in some menu like “about” -click to enlarge album art -use player while charging -sketch pad -use sketch pad to edit pictures + virtual keyboard to add text to pics -be able to send texts from the player when connected to phone -be able to answer calls from phone I included the stuff that was said to be done in the updates as well. |

More than anything, I'd like to see more video format support.

Yep. I emailed Samsung Customer Support, and they said a date has not been set for the release yet.
I think that is just speculation, although I would love if it was on the 7th. |

I just thought of a feature that I think could be added. Since we have the microphone, how about voice command recognition? I guess that might lose the point of having the "cool" touch screen interface if we don't need to touch it. But it might be another wow point to distinguish it from other players.

I think that the voice command recognition is a little bit to high tech to put it on a P2, no?

Two things:
1. "Landscape orientation" screen option for all modes. In other words, let us play music with the player "sideways," just like it works for videos. ESPECIALLY, SINCE THEY PUT THE STINKIN' HEADPHONE OUTPUT ON THE BOTTOM OF THE BLASTED THING!!! (Ahem.) I use mine hooked up to a mini stereo system at the office. Either let me lay the thing down sideways and see everything right-side-up, or release some kind of "playback stand" for the thing with a line out jack. 2. A "Play All" option, added to the "Play Once / Repeat One / Repeat All" (and so on) menu. In other words, this would have the player "keep on going" to the next album, or the next artist, or the next genre after finishing playback for whatever you had chosen to play. Then I'd be pretty happy with the thing.

Not to downsize the voice command feature, but would blind people buy a touch screen device? I think a tactile controlled one would be a better fit.

i don't really like the itouch/iphone but i did find the album art flipping very cool... if you don't know wat i'm talking about go check it out... it'd be really cool if samsung could get this to work although apple probably already got it patented samsung might be able to find a way to work around it

Well, I doubt that blind people would be buying it, but it might be good for people who don't want to get fingerprints all over the screen. Also, I use my current MP3 player in my car with a tape cassette adapter. I was thinking voice commands might be useful when using the player in the car, I wouldn't have to take my eyes off the road to skip to another song, album, artist, or playlist.
My cell phone is able to accept voice commands to dial entries in my address list, and I didn't even have to train it. I figured the same type of functionality could be added to the P2. |

I have M$ Voice Command on my MDA Pro. It's kind of cool.
I can lauch applications, dial, start music playback by artist, album, ..., ask for date and time, battery level, tasks, ... Shine On, Frank |
