Default K3 + Linux

Hey , i was wondering if their was any way i could get my player to work with Linux, i run Ubuntu and i can't put the player in MTP mode, their's nowhere to do that sucks.. anyone can help?

The K3 can work with Ubuntu if you first install a UMS firmware on it. You will need to use a windows computer to do this though. See this thread for links to firmware and a guide on the update process.

You could as well use the YP-K3 in MTP mode directly!

All you have to do is install MTP (libmtp I think the package is called) and appropriate tools. I also rum ubuntu and also use the YP-K3 - and it works awesomely fine!

I use "Rhythmbox" to browse and play my music and it has MTP support (since version 0.11), you have to activate it in the preferences and then your YP-K3 is identified when connected. You can browse and delete, and add files to your player. The only thing you can't do is cerate playlists on the player (I haven't seen any other way but using the Samsung Media Studio yet).

A simpler small tool is "Gnomad2", simple but easy to use and support adding and removing files to / from your MTP player.
