[EP-630] Fake Or Not

Hi, I just got a pair of Creative EP-630's off eBay for $8.90 + $4.99 delivery (AU$).

^^Theres a link to them, I was just wondering, are they real or not as the price seems rather different to the $34.95 in Dick Smith/Tandy.
Also, they didn't come in a box, but rather, a silver bag with clear plastic front and a sticker saying Creative Earphones EP-630 In-Ear Noise Isolation Earphones. (It has Creative colours, logo, etc)
They sound great with bass as I have read from many reviews, but the price and packaging bugs me.

I was going to post pictures but I'm not sure what to take pictures of, what would I need to take for you to determine if they are fake or not?

They normally sell for $29 to $34 and come packaged like the pic below, but anythings possible

They could be real. The reason they might have not come in a proper box could be because they are out of the Creative Zen Vision:M accessory pack or something like that.

I apologize if these pictures aren't great, the camera is basic, and I'm not a great photographer. They're blurred beyond recognition...
But you can see the packaging and plug clearly I suppose. The rest were too blurry to be of use.

I want to say definitely fake, because I've heard of a lot of the fake ones coming in plastic bags. However, in the last pic, it doesn't look like the groove dividing the silver ring is in the middle (usually on fake ones it is, but then again, how many kinds are there?). On the real EP-630s, the groove is slightly closer to the cable side, as in yours. However, the groove doesn't look deep enough. I'd need a better pic.

The most important question is, how do they sound? If you like the way they sound, and you're satisfied, why in the hell do you care whether they're real or fake?

The groove isn't in the middle, it's more further away from the speaker, near the cable.

Got any tips for the pictures? They turn out so blurry.

I'm satisfied, but I don't like knowing I've spent $14 on something which is fake.
They're bass-heavy, and I like that.

Why do you care? 14 dollars isn't a bad price for sound you like. If they were 14 dollars and they sounded awful, that's a different story. But maybe you'd spend 50 on the real 630's and you'd hate the sound. Which would be worse?

I'll just stay convinced they're real.
They sound better than $50 Panasonics from a B&M store so that's gotta count for something.
The sound & bass got even better a day after I got them, so that too.

I was tempted to go for CX300's from a seller claiming they were genuine as he needed feedback, but it was too risky, considering these EP-630's were similarly priced and had less chance of being fake.

For the pictures, get more lighting and check if your camera has a macro mode.

Not really. Some Panasonic sound worst than fake stuff actually.

Could you tell us two things? One, does the line on the metal ring close to one side or symmetrical to both? Second, is the _ on the ^ sign on the back of the earpieces as wide as the ^, or different in wideness?

The line on the metal ring is closer to the cable.
The _ is the same width as the ^

The first one is good, the second one is no so good (the _ should be a tiny bit narrower).

I think this should be the last question: Look at the metal mesh on the nozzle, is its edge stick out, or curve in (or blend into the plastic)?

That's one of the big sign of fake. A real one's mesh should curve in a bit and kind of blend into the plastic.
