Can anyone with a new NWZ series walkman (the new SonicStage-less devices) tell me if they are able to read any type of tag data from AAC files?
I own an NW-A808, PSP and PS3 and while all of these devices claim to 'support' AAC, they can't read the tag data such as the artist, album, track number, etc. So only the file names show up. I realize that the metadata normally in AAC files was made up by Apple, but almost all software (such as Nero's AAC encoder) and even the MS Zune can read them now. PS: How does one even put AAC files on the player as WMP11 doesn't even support the format? |

I was wondering this, as mine arrived today I can answer
.iTunes Plus songs work fine. Nero AAC encoded songs work fine. All required tag data is shown: album art, artist, genre, year Lets hope Sony can sort out their other hardware in this respect. f1rick |

That's good news for sure. Thanks a lot.
What are you using to transfer the AAC files? |

I've simply copied them over using the windows file explorer, the walkman then builds its own media library.
