I bought a Samsung YP-K3 2Gb yesterday.
Installed the software from the CD and plugged in the player trough my USB2.0-port on the computer. The computer recognize is as a new hardware and i got a popup that contains options to install new hardware. I have tried both the automatic way and the advanced way. But I cant install it. It fails when the MTP Device is trying to install ![]() I just get this error-message all the time: ![]() Translation for the swedish part is: A chapter about the installation of the services in this INF-file is invalid. I have Windows XP Pro SP2 and WMP11 Please help me with a solution!

Hm, I'm not an MP3 guy but a computer guy but I'll give it a shot.
Did you make sure you installed everything properly before plugging it in? |

Hello Saifer, in most cases SP2 and WMP11 will do it but some others have found the need to use 'Add New Hardware' in Control panel. From here you can search the net for any missing MTP drivers, or install the driver by locating it under "portable devices, standard mtp compliant device".
If you still have no success, here's a registry fix which has been uploaded might could correct things.

The only other thing I can think of right now is to rollback WMP, see if the K3 is now recognised, then reinstall WMP11.

One last suggestion from me, download and install the MTP porting kit from microsoft, here. Then if the same error message is displayed, Run "devmgmt.msc", select the K3 and update driver.
Otherwise, I still doubt that this is an issue with the player, but I'm afraid that I've run out of suggestions whether the problem lies with the player or the computer.
