I would recommend the Altec Lansing VS4121 can be found for about $65. Altec Lansing VS2421 under $50 If you are a hip hop or trance lover then I recommend logitech X 230 for the subwoofer and you can buy them at $35 or $40 which is very cheap, however the altecs I've mentioned sound better

Your welcome. Trust me Altec Lansing won't dissapoint you, I am in love with that brand and have bought 3 different speaker systems from them, none of which I regret, I still have my first 2.1 system from Altec that is about 5 years old and still works.

I'd consider the Logictech mm28 speakers. They're only $14 total at buy.com, including shipping (free). The speakers themselves are about a foot long, thin, and use a vibrating front plate to produce the sound (NXT technology). They run on AA's and have a 40-60 hr battery life, and have a wall adapter. They're not much for stationary computer speakers, but would be a great idea if you ever want to have portable ones.
