I want to get one since they support the SDHC cards but ordering online seems difficult to know if you are going to get a V1 or V2 player.
Are the V2 players the new colored ones only? |

I have the v2 plyaer, but i was lucky to get it since i didn't know there's 2 versions. I found out about it after talking with sandink asking why I can't switch the player to MSC mode. The only way to see that is trough the menu->setting->system info.
You should know that v2 player support only MTP mode, but I was told by sandisk that in the next version it'll support also in MSC mode |

I found out how you can use the v2 player in MSC mode (as a mass storage device) on the current version:
switch on the hold button, press on the rewind button and plug in the player while holding it. BTW, as seen on the official sansa site, the c200 doesn't support SDHC. http://sandisk.com/sansa/c200.html go to accessories and see the memory expansion "compatible with" list I hope it's not true |

To Identify the v2 LOOK on the back batter cover at the very bottom in VERY small print all the way to the right you will see model c250 (or whatever) v2..
Also by checking what firmware the player has if it is v03.whatever then it is a v2 If it is 01.whatever it is a v1.. You can not use v1 firmware on a v2 and vice versa. Some refurbs I have one has a back cover with the REFURBISHED in silver and v2 in the model name BUT it is in reality a v1 (They just put a v2 batter cover on it) Also the packaging I am told is different (but I forgot to look) maybe look for the "Supports Audible audio file formats" for the v2 |

I would say the easiest is checking the firmware version since the backs can be changed easily.
