I've always been able to remove songs from the mobile playlist. I don't think you can do it on shuffle though. You do it the same way you put them on, you hold the centre button until it says removed

Same here. I knew how to do it all along.

Text is a nice feature but I prefer to have had it 9 months ago as promised when the hype was high. Oh well.

I'm pleased to note that it remembers your position in a text file even after it fully shuts down after 24 hrs. This is a pleasant surprise and very handy when using the Z5 to read e-books.

Does it remember your position in an audio file?

Which would be very handy when listening to long audio books.....

No, sadly it forgeting your place in whatever you were listening to after the 24 hr. mark has not changed.

Does this update finally get the brain-dead Z5 to match the capability of the original walkmans: Not forgetting its place if you don't touch it for 24 hours?

Or have the ability to select a 'full' turn off time of something other than 24 hours.

It seems to me that samsung are a bunch of complete muppets if they add features that are not part of those core to a music player without getting their original shoddy programming sorted out.

Edit: Ooops, didn't notice second page on this thread - seems my question has been answered.

What a bunch of f**kwits!

Figured as much, but I had my fingers crossed. But it can remember your position in a text file!

I can also confirm that it remembers your text file position even after syncing with a PC.

Try downloading it again, perhaps the original download closed to early and the firmware files are incomplete. This'll work with all Z5s so you shouldn't have an issue with the upgrade.

Hi, I just got a used Z5 as a gift and want to upgrade the software. I've done it before on my own Z5, but this one seems to have an upgrade on it already.

I don't have to remove that file or anything, do I?

Also, in the instructructions on the Z5 Lounge board it says to put it in the root directory in UMS mode, but in the data folder in MTP mode.

Well, I have a data folder in UMS mode that has the upgrade in it. Do I put it in that folder or just drag it to the root directory?

Am I making sense here?

I'm just paranoid about screwing up the upgrade!

thanks!

Here's the instructions I wrote back in the days of version 2.45 of the Z5 firmware.

Yeah, I had gotten that when I updated last time - thanks so much! - but my problem is that there is a data folder in the new one now with an update in it. Do I put it in the data folder where the previous update is, or just directly in the main root directory?

thanks!

Ok, well, I took a chance and just dragged it to the root directory. Worked like a charm.

Thanks again!

For any other wondering if they should use the data folder or the root directory, if you are using Windows Media Player 10 then copy to Data and WMP11 to the root.
