You can get the new 1.01.11 through the beta Sansa Updater. I put together a 1.01.11a zip file and it is uploading to ez-files.net right now. I will post a link so anyone can download it if they are having problems with the beta Updater.
Here is the link. Link Last edited by EnzoTen; 08-26-2006 at 10:34 AM. |

How and where do you install the firmware file in the .zip container? Guide me from the point you extract it onward (where to extract).

Sorry if i repeat this question, but where can i find the current european FW? Always if i check for new updates with the sandisk-software it comes the message "01.00.12E is up to date". If i copy the linked files from this thread, the sansa makes a update to the current 1.01.11A FW. And if i use the update-software after this update the software makes a downgrade to the 01.00.12E. Can anybody help? Thanks.
Regards Michael

It appears the EU firmware has not been released.

I have a (Euro) Sansa 270 and have put on the US Firmware by mistake. I was sooo eager to get it I downloaded it from this Forum and installed it manually rather than use the Sansa Updater software. It seems to work okay with the US firmware (apart from now gaining an FM Radio icon), however I have noticed some 'static' noise at the start when it begins playing (not at the beginning of every track, just at the first). I never got this noise at the 1.012 Firmware (Euro?). What I'd like to know is if there is any way I can remove the US Firmware to revert my player to how it was before so I can then wait for the 'official' Euro version of the latest firmware. I'd also like to know if anyone knows if the radio chip will be fitted in the E280for Europe...I do miss my radio that I had in the Monolith Premium. Sorry for the length of this, it's my first-ever 'post'. Cheers

I mirrored the firmware on my site. Direct download, no waiting.
The file is unmoddified from the file posted by Slaughter, I am posting MD5/SHA1 checksums to verify. http://www.metapy.com/e200_FW_Upgrade_1.01.11a.zip MD5: F167E6A77CDF9D9DE687F0CD1A06D740 SHA1: B4DD9E4BC8CAE2FA16EB271A2E3B855BCD086B1F |

hey, i just got me a e250. liking it so far, but still getting used to the features/modes/etc.
just had a quick question. the FW version that's on mine currently is 12A. i dont know the order of the latest versions but is there a need for me to update to 11? i realize 11 is the one that the updater updates to, but technically isn't the 12 the newer? sorry if that's a stupid question, i would've thought higher number = latest version. also, if i do need to download this, can i just download the updater and overwrite my current FW? do i need to format/refresh anything like that? thanks in advance. |

Actually, you have 1.00.12A whereas the new one is 1.01.11a. It's 1 minor version higher.

The 12a is 0.12a and the 11a is 1.11a. You don't need to update unless you are having a lot of system noise, popping between songs, you want to be able to use the GO List and you want the custom EQ. If none of this applies to you, then keep the firmware you have. There may be some other reasons to upgrade, but if it works for you, don't.
You can just use the updater. The zip file I posted is for people who need to manually update the firmware. I recommend formatting before you upgrade if you are going to. EDIT - Tim's too fast and beat me.

oh, thanks alot guys, but another problem arose. i dont know how to use the zip file and i dont know where to extract it to, so i did the updater thing.
however, upon downloading and installing, it gets a windows error and won't let me continue. my mp3 then starts to say 'writing' although nothing is going on. im afraid to just unplug it cuz it is saying 'writing'. is this part of the updating process? i'm really not sure because the updater disappears after the error. if i format, will all the current folders be there (music, playlists, video). it's just the songs that'll be deleted correct? |

You can unplug it when it says writing, I just wouldnt make a habit of it. Formatting erases all media files from the player. To extract the zip, you just double click or right click on it and choose extract. Then put your player in MSC mode and drag and drop the 2 files from the zip file onto your player, then disconnect the cable, it will reboot and upgrade.

The root means not in a folder, just open the drive letter assigned to your device and drop them there.

I'm trying to get the .zip files with the .mi4 and .rom files, so I can use them with H3mod. The updater justs updates my player without giving me such files to work with. I tried the other links and they don't work, so is there anywhere else I can get .zip file?

I cannot get the firmware from either of the two links posted at the top of this thread either. I sure would appreciate it if anybody could direct me to the latest firmware.
My E250 has a "load main image failure", after I updated to 1.01.11, and I cannot get the auto-updater to force another load, it says there is no new firmware available! Nice forum, I would be lost with only the users manual and Sandisk website! |
