Default Firmware Changelog: 1.00.12 to 1.01.11

I found a few changes..

+ First, Custom EQ, + 2 more presets (Full Bass and Full Treble) (I can set the player's volume really low now )

+ When watching album art or next song, the time the text or album is displayed is increased to 5-6 seconds :]

+/- Popping is almost gone, it is heard when switching tracks.

+ Volume seems to be louder, but i'm not sure about that.

- The menu seems to be little bit slower and gets stuck sometimes.

I've noticed that tracks and albums with extended characters now show up correctly instead of as a square.

Also the database refresh (msc mode) seems to work much better as i often got tracks left in the database after deleting them and had to force a complete database rebuild. It worked perfectly when deleting stuff in my limited tests.

Am I missing something.

Highlight a song in your list, hold the center button for 2 seconds and it will be added to the GO list. No more needing to play a ssong to add it to the Go list.

Question Can the specific changes be added to the first message in this thread?

Is it possible for us to maintain a sort of "dynamic" changelog in the first message in this thread, more like what the erstwhile firmware request thread did?
See: http://www.anythingbutipod.com/forum...read.php?t=503

That way, people can keep adding their discoveries at the end of the thread, but they get reflected in the first message. Right now, it is a tough job to navigate through the entire list and parse it to find specific changelog related info!!

Sadly, I don't have the right permissions to do this myself, and I feel that has to be the first post in the list!

Thanks!!

Smile Using the Back "<<" button while paused

1.00.12:

On the previous firmware, if you were paused in the middle of a song, and you pressed the back button, it would appear nothing happened, but as soon as you pressed play, the player would jump to the beginning of the PREVIOUS song.

1.01.11A:

Now if you press the back button when the player is paused, it jumps to the beginning of the CURRENT song and immediately begins to play.

This is definitely an improvement for me, because often when I turn on my e260, I want to restart the current song that's displayed.

I've also noticed that the backlight turns on whenever a new song starts. Is this a toggleable feature? I'm sure this would have an effect on batery life...

That does not happen on mine. Might be an isolated incident. Try reloading the firmware.

Thanks for the tip \o/
Didnīt know about this new feature
And now the GoList makes some sense to me

Well... I found some things in this new firmware:

- In the Music Options, when you change the Reprodution Type( Repeat and Shuflle), there is some ( some ? itīs a good) lag when it changes ;

- When you pause the music, there is a lag in the Pause image ( it take some time to show up);

- There is some lag in the Go List too, when you have too much songs inside of it and you roll the songs to choose one.

+ Now the frequency of the Radio starts in 87.5 Mhz ( not a greate thing for most of you , but for me was a nice change ).

Well, 3 negatives and 1 positive.
Forgetting the problems, i really enjoyned the new firmware

PS: Sorry about the gramatical errors, but I donīt speak English

MTP transfers (i use Napster To Go) are drastically faster and more reliable for me so far. Down to around 15 sec per average song transfer time, before it could take well over a minute to do one song and the player often froze up when transfering a lot of music.

Hi Im new here and got my sansa e250 for a week now.
Just found this cool forum

I also Updated my sansa with FW 1.01.11E and some new features appeared.

The thing with the backlight also happens here. Thing is when you use it without the HOLD active it works fine (backlight stays off while songs switch). When you use HOLD the backlight goes on every time the song switches.

Default Play Previous restarts Audiobook with new firmware

I listen to large audiobook files from Netlibrary. I have always wished for a bookmark feature but I know it doesn't exist. Prior to the firmware upgrade, my alternative to a bookmark was to turn the player off while playing or paused, then upon restart it returned to the same spot. When I needed to recharge, upon completion, I would select music/play previous and return to where I last was.

Now, with the new firmware, the play previous returns me to the beginning of the song/book, which on an 18 hour audiobook is really not helpful. Scanning through the song to get to my place is not a viable option.

Anyone have any suggestions?

That is strange. Mine still returns to the same spot. Maybe a firmware reload will fix it. Or possibly just a format.

This is the answer SanDisk gave me...

Please try the following:

1) Before you charge your Sansa, turn it on. Do not attach to the USB port when off.

2) Pause at the point in your audio file where you wish to resume.

3) While the Sansa is still on, attach to the USB to charge it.

4) When done charging, detach from the USB.

If you are in MTP mode, when you choose Play Previous, it should resume from where you left off.

If you are in MSC mode, the player should restart and return to the audio file right where you had it paused.

So yes...it appears I am an anomaly. I will try to reload it again.
