Hello y'all.
Thinking of buying a D2. I have about 6 gigs of music and was just wondering if it was dumb to buy a D2 + 4 gig SD memory or should i wait (if rumors are true) for a 8gig D2? |

Unless the 8gig version is going to be different, why wait? Cost wise, it'll probably be about the same. I'm running a 4gb D2 with 8gb SDHC. I'll need another card soon.

Does the Internal memory and the Expandable memory run flawlessly together then?

If you like browsing your music by ID3 tags, the internal memory and extended memory contents will be "merged" under a single database. If you use folder/file navigation, though, you'll have to keep switching between internal or extended memory when browsing your files.

is there any advantages of relying on having my media in internal memory than on expandable memory? stabilty for example or speed or something else?

The battery lasts a little longer when you access media from the internal memory instead of the memory card, but the difference is negligible. As for speed or reliability, I think there's no noticeable difference, as long as the card is from a good manufacturer (Kingston, Transcend, Sandisk, etc.) There's a list of compatible SDHC cards at iAudiophile.com forums.

The 8-gigger is already on Cowon's front page: http://www.cowonglobal.com/ - can't take much longer now.

Are you sure this isn't just on pre-order? I dunno, didn't say anywhere on that site if they really have it in stock.

But, I believe, it's gonna be fine with one (or two) large SDHC card(s) for a while... Now, I can't wait to receive it..
