Default can't copy img and rom

Hi!

I can't upgrade my MTP firmware to UMS, because it's an MTP device
So the only way i can get something on it, is through the samsung media studio, or the windows media player, wich only allow to copy mp3, jpg, txt, but not img or rom.

Auto upgrader doesn't work either, it says, i have the newest firmware, but it writes : device version: 3.05; upgrade version: 4.06
so it's funny

how can i turn my mtp to ums??? pls help me

Hello, kopaszkukac

Before upgrading please check battery status - !!important!!

Please insert your player to pc, open menu START>MY COMPUTER in there must be your player. First time you must do format, them copy two files .rom and one of .img / red, blue or green up to you/. [ Maybe after formated your player works on USB mode, try windows comander or My computer -my event] Disconect your player, turn on, the upgrading firmware start, when finished, turn on again, upgrading image start.Press reset on the back hole. After this proces check your FW in SETTINGS>SYSTEMS.

I don't know but I hope that I helped to you.
Sorry for my bad english.

Can someone explain me why this firmware is not released officially?

If I go http://www.samsung.com/us/support/do...ype=FM&vType=L
it displays me just 3.05

It is released officially (by Samsung) just not for your specific model. The link above happens to be for a Japanese model, and the link in this thread happens to be a 'worldwide' version. I'm not sure why Samsung has designed things this way, but both happen to contain the same files, and be compatible with all models.

and only one question:

can somebody confirm that playing music in ogg needs more battery / reduces the playtime of the player?

(Sorry, but my English isn't very well, I don't know how to explain it better)

OGG Vorbis uses a more complex encoding/decoding than MP3, so there is more to process and therefore more battery usage to any portable device. To what extent, I'm unsure of.

I just went from 1.09 to 4.06. I have noticed there is a bit of lag when you select a song to be played compared to the 1.09. Is it the same way with you all? I have discovered this lag is reduced if you don't have your music organized in folders on the player, which would be hell if you used the korean firmware. So...yeah...any ideas lol.
