First turn off the custom EQ. If that doesnt work, try another pair of headphones. If you still have the problem, and both pairs of headphones work elsewhere, then it's the female jack in the player that has gone bad (the hole where you put the headphone plug). Contact SanDisk or where you bought it for a RMA. If RMA is not an option, you can try my three basic ways of fixing a hardware headphone jack
