Q: Where can I get the latest Firmware?
A: The latest firmware can be found in this tread. Q: Can I damage my battery by over charging, recharging too much, or leaving the player plugged in. A: No, almost all portable electronic devices use lithium-ion batteries which are much more durable compared to previous nickel metal hydride and nickel cadmium batteries that suffered from "battery memory". There is little you can do to preserver the life of a lithium-ion battery wich have a typical life span of between 18-24 months depending on use. Check out Battery University for more info. Q: How do I use the Mobile Playlist? A: To add songs to the Z5 Mobile Playlist, highlight the song, then press and hold the center touchpad button for a few seconds. The highlighted song will flash and the message “Added to Playlist” will display at the bottom of the screen. To remove songs from the Mobile Playlist, navigate to Playlists > Mobile Playlist. The list of songs in the Mobile Playlist will be displayed. Highlight the song to be removed, then press and hold the center touchpad button for a few seconds. The message “Removed” will display at the bottom of the screen. Q: How do I know when the Z5 is fully charged? A: The Z5 is fully charged when the battery icon turns green. Q: What is the best size for walpaper? A: Crop your photos to 128 x 160 pixels. This is the screen size of the Z5 and is optimal for your backgound wallpaper. Also check out the wallpaper thread. Q: Is there a way to force the Z5 to connect in UMS (USB Mass Storage) mode? A: Press and hold the back button, the backward curving arrow, while plugging the other end of the Z5 cable into the USB port on your PC. Keep pressing the button until you see “connected” on the Z5 screen. From firmware 2.28 and above, you can force the Z5 to always connect in UMS mode by turning the “UMS Only” setting to “On” via the menu path: Settings > System Info. I keep reading that the batter indicator will turn green when full. I dont know if thats true on all the models internationally. I say this because the US version doesnt change to green when full as far as my experience goes, and I've had it plugged in for 24 hours some times. I have the YP-Z5AS/XAA and it does not change to green when full...If anyone with this model has a different experience I would love to hear from you.
Thanks |

Mine DOES turn green when fully charged, but ONLY while it is still connected to the interface cable. As soon as it is disconnected and completes the "finishing" action, it changes to a full white battery.

. In your Z5: Settings / System Info / UMS Only = On . (This requires firmware 2.28 or later.) (2) Connect the Z5 to the USB port. (3) Open a File Explorer, and find the Z5 as a removable hard drive. (4) Drag and drop files from the Z5 to the computer. |

Q: Does the Z5 support .ogg files?
A: Somewhat. It has been widely reported that there is some noise associated with playback of .ogg files. Not all players are affected, it's a hit and miss. The noise is present with the DNSe on and the backlight off. Other people have reported this noise with .wma files. It is believed to be a hardware issue, thus not fixable through a firmware upgrade. If you want an .ogg player, I would suggest a different device. |

Calm down.. you can also update with an update for a version that looks like it, just use the one that has the most comparisons. I did the same for mine.

first...yes
second...you have to give it more than 7 minutes for some one to respond. There arent as many Z5 users here as say, a Zen Vision M or Sansa...so you'll have to learn some patience... |
