Default $199.00 Walmart Store

The Zen M 30gb has rolled back to $199.99 in Walmart stores. I wonder if this is to make room for the new slim version.

Either way, it’s a great deal…

Oh, for sure,I agree. This is the time to buy. The heck with the slimmer size if one could get one of the top, if not the top player for so cheap.

Ok, I am confused. I thought the slimmer only applied to the 60gb (Fatty) that was being changed to the same size chassis as the 30gb. And that the 30gb is remaining at that size. Correct me if I am wrong.

As of now, you are correct. I suppose we all hope that Creative comes out with something smaller and better sometime soon. I guess a price drop on the 30 gig might make one think that a smaller 30 gig is forthcoming.

However, while $199 is lower than MSRP, it is not cheaper than the 30 gig has sold for within the last 6 months. Newegg and Buy.com have both sold the thing for $160.

It is not unusual to see good deals online. My point was when local stores,at least in my area, begin to drop the price as much as this, that mean that a change is coming. this change could be discontuation of product, new product line or bad sells. This is not a sell but a price drop.

It's not a drastic-enough price drop to make me think the store is trying to clear them out to make room for something else, so it might be just a good deal the store is doing to stay one step ahead of their competition.

Come to think of it you may e right. When the local Walmarts here are clearing out a product they usualy put a red tag on it and a large drop in price. At 199.00 this is for sure the best 30gb dat for the money in my book. I have had mine close to a year and still love it like it was yesterday.
