Bought one a couple of weeks ago and so far I am still impressed.
Battery life up to 5 hours, wifi conncection straight forward (a lot less hassle than setting up my laptop) Streaming dvd files and avi files from desktop or laptop most impressive, you would think the files were actually running from Archos harddrive. Picture quality is V.good About as big as a paperback and probaly twice as heavy (dependent on number of pages) One thing I would like to be able to view on it is Realplayer videos and Google videos but at the moment that's a no no! |

Got one a few days ago to replace the DivX capable portable DVD player I have and use for travel. So, for me, the size is great -- smaller and lighter than my DVD player, but with a nice size screen -- plus I don't have to lug and discs around with me. I'll also be able to play music from it in my rental car and hook it up to a hotel TV to watch videos.
The device seems to work well. All videos I have thrown at it have played without issues. Wifi was easy and works well -- even plays video on my PC using it well. I was able to google, wiki, and check my email without problems too. You will need headphones though. The speakers suck. |
