Angry How to set boot

I just put on digibuild and would like to normally boot into the factory boot and have tou use the left button in order to use the alternate boot. I do not see any instructions as to how to do this.

I am still learning but have encountered a problem where the sansa will lockup and the only way to unlock it is to remove the battery.This has happened where I have tried to look at a .bmp file.

To boot into the original firmware (OF), just press and hold the "<<" button when you first turn the Sansa on and the "Sandisk" splash screen comes up. You have to be pretty quick, though, because unlike the OF, Rockbox boots FAST!

Are you trying to look at .bmp's you had already put on the sansa with the Sansa Media Converter? Rockbox won't see those; I had the same issue as you, and got the lock-up. If it locks up on you for whatever reason, just press and hold the power button. You may have to hold it down for what seems like a long time, and it may require a couple attempts. To look at .bmp's on Rockbox, just drag-and-drop them right into the Sansa; don't use SMC.

I'm back. Just did a new build with 2 new patches and the latest SVN source with several fixes. Enjoy!

I'm still having problems with customline/custom list/multifont for the iPhone WPS, but I'm working on it.

I don't know if this has happened to anyone else(I could just be dumb, but I wanted to make sure), but When I load Rockbox it doesn't say Digibuild anymore, just Rockbox, and then a version # at the bottom.
It's pretty strange... So, am I using a different build (I swear I'm not!), or did Digerati1388 just change it?

That's probably my fault. I think i must have forgotten to replace the boot image after i reverted my source to svn.

Heh, trying to get the iPhone patches working? Most of the patches for it were updated today due to the changes in SVN, so they should all apply cleanly, if followed in the proper order.

You want Mike's reverse bootloader

Hi, I'm Mike. I generally go by digerati1338 around here though.

Anyway, I did an update to my ReverseBL that is based on SVN. Anyone using it should update.

Haven't done a new build yet today because of coding ReverseBL and MultiBL, but I should have another one soon (hopefully with iPhone patches finally.)

Hi Mike:

Just a suggestion. Maybe you should apply the bootloader part of the Sansa Line patch to your reverse bootloader.

I have included that patch in the digibuild, but I think it seems out of place in the ReverseBL since it screws up the OF and ReverseBL boots OF first.

Or am I missing something? Was that fixed?

I don't use a reverse bootloader, but judging by the code it shouldn't screw up the boot order. Anyway it is not an important patch, since it only covers up the glitch during booting.

This pair of patches will cover it up in Rockbox (and bootloader if you recompile it). Still need to fix it for booting to the original firmware though
I wasn't referring to screwing up boot order, just the fact that it says it has problems booting to the OF in the description.

But this is getting off topic.

It just wouldn't hide the glitch when you boot into the OF.

Back on topic: I'm thinking about writing a program that will automatically download the latest digibuild. My problem is, well, batch scripting sucks. I can't seem to find any way to access http files in batch scripts. I know Java well, but that kind of seems like overkill. If anyone has and workarounds or ideas that would help, let me know. Right now I've got this pseudocode:

Code:
date = date(yyyy-mm-dd);
x = 0
while x == 0
     if exist (http://e200.digerati1338.googlepages.com/digibuild-%date%)
          link = http://e200.digerati1338.googlepages.com/digibuild-%date%
          x = 1
     else
          date = date - 1
endwhile
cp %link% \temp.zip
zip -u temp E:\
exit
That probably makes no sense at all and is most likely a mixture of BASH, Java, and Batch... But it's a rough idea of what I need to do. There are a couple big problems like "date=date - 1", but its just pseudocode.

I'll play around with it some more later. My brain is fried right now.

How about using wget:

http://www.gnu.org/software/wget/

and including a copy with your script?

Thanks. That works well. I think I have a batch script that should be working now, but it seems to be throwing a weird error at "if exist". It says "> was unexpected at this time." Any thoughts are appreciated:
Code:
@echo off
echo ***digibuild Automator***
echo By digerati1338
echo DOWNLOADING LATEST DIGIBUILD
::Set Date to store values in dow, dd, mm, yy, hh, min, ss
For /f "tokens=1-7 delims=:/-, " %%i in ('echo exit^|cmd /q /k"prompt $D $T"') do (
    For /f "tokens=2-4 delims=/-,() skip=1" %%a in ('echo.^|date') do (
        set dow=%%i
        set %%a=%%j
        set %%b=%%k
        set %%c=%%l
        set hh=%%m
        set min=%%n
        set ss=%%o
    )
)
SET x = 0
:LOOP
.\wget-1.10.2b\wget.exe http://e200.digerati1338.googlepages.com/digibuild-%yy%-%mm%-%dd%.zip
echo WGET LOOP DONE
::See if we have the file.
IF EXIST digibuild-%yy%-%mm%-%dd%.zip echo FILE FOUND
IF EXIST digibuild-%yy%-%mm%-%dd%.zip SET file = digibuild-%yy%-%mm%-%dd%.zip
IF EXIST digibuild-%yy%-%mm%-%dd%.zip SET x = 1
IF %dd% > 1 SET dd = %dd% - 1
ELSE (
    SET dd = 31
    IF %mm% > 1 SET mm = %mm% - 1
    ELSE (
        SET yy = %yy% - 1
        SET mm = 12
    )
)
IF %x% == 0 GOTO LOOP
echo BUILD DOWNLOADED
echo INSTALLING
unzip -o -d "E:\" %file%
echo DIGIBUILD UPDATED!
This script requires wget in the correct location and assumes the sansa is at E:\.

OK, I got it working. Man do I hate Batch scripting! I had errors in nearly every other line in my previous post. Apparently SET needs a /A switch to do any arithmetic. And spaces can't be around equal signs.

wget worked extremely well. Thanks for the tip Charles. I also ended up using Info-UnZip to extract the zip file.

digibuild Updater is working good.

I've been busy with ReverseBL/MultiBL updates and haven't had time to do a build in a while...

New build is now out, with iPhone patches. Thanks to chrisjs for help with that.
