Hey eddie, I got the program working, it had a problem finding my plater on the first go, but i closed it down and found it no problem on the second go. The only thing I was able to do was manually create a playlist, none of the auto playlists worked. I noticed a couple little things, the Playlist Wizard on the Tools menu didn't give there message that the Playlist Wizard on the File menu gave me when i selected it, also there was a typo in the message I received by clicking Playlist Wizard under the File Menu.
Other than that, it looks good ![]() thanks again for the time you've put into these programs.

I AM EXTREMELY PLEASED TO ANNOUNCE !!!!!!! THAT AFTER 4 WEEKS OF STRUGGLING I finally discovered how to load Portable Device Object Data when it is of VT_UNKOWN type. What does this mean you say? It means we can now EDIT playlists from the player, create new ones, and have access to META DATA only Windows media player had access to !!!!! Not only that, but the program loads all types of portable media players correctly now. AND FAST to. Another added bonus. I CAN LET YOU CREATE CUSTOM ALBUMS FROM MY APPLICATION!!!!!!! You can now send a playlist to another playlist, split one playlist into as many as you want, auto update playlists (YAY!!!!!!!!) and I can also let you RESET PLAY COUNTS TO ZERO if you want. YAY I am so happy!!!! You don't know how much time I spent on this.!!!!!!! Give me a couple of afternoons and this playlist generator will work excellant!!!!! WOOOOOOOOOOOOO HOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!! The second BETA version will also allow you to make VIDEO PLAYLISTS as well!

Of course, you could modify a .pls playlist file to reference video files instead of audio, but there's still the matter of getting the firmware to recognize this.

Video playlists might not be supported right now, but they must have plans for them becuase Microsoft included the object type in their API's. Also, in the second beta of this program, you will be able to make picture playlists (better known as "photo albums") and mixed content albums (also known as "Slide Shows").

I'm also eagerly awaiting the next beta.
Perhaps you have mentioned this earlier, don't know, but will there be the ability to scrobble to Last.fm from any of the software you are developing? |

Well, I was thinking about that. Before I do that I will have to ask Daryl his permission if I want to use any of his code. Hmmmmmmmm......However, if I developed my own code, I guess that would be OK. we will see....

Ok so i downloaded the file and un zipped it, ran the install process and tried to start it, I immediately get a "A to Z Playlist Manager has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience." here is the info got out of it
"EventType : clr20r3 P1 : a to z playlist manager.exe P2 : 1.0.1.57 P3 : 463f7866 P4 : a to z playlist manager P5 : 1.0.1.57 P6 : 463f7866 P7 : 14 P8 : e9 P9 : system.invalidoperationexception" so i tryed everything i know to try, ie. redownload, restart the computer, I repaired the microsoft .NET framework 2.0 but that did not help either, I tried the version 2 build but it gives the same error anyone know what is wrong? BTW i am on a win2k machine

Does your Creative software work on the Windows 2000 machine? I thought it only works on XP and Vista. I thing MTP either doesn't work or is very unreliable on W2K.

Hey every one. Have you ever had a problem in your life that just consumed you with trying to find the solution? Well, that is the problem I was having trying to transfer content to and from a portable device with the Windows Portable Device API Library. I finally figured out today how to do it. It was so easy that I can not believe I did'nt find the solution sooner. So infintely simple that it eluded me for two months! If anybody want to know how, just ask me. You will laugh your arse off when you see it done. Man. I just can't believe it.
On the good side, this puts a real boost into the playlist manager release. I am working on it now and hope to release it today or tommorrow. By the way, We had a long weekend here in Canada because it was the Queens birthday. (whopty doo...) BTW: My program will work on xp and vista.

Well gones, I am not gonna release it today cause I was up late working on it and then had to come to work today, and I am a little touchy today. I attached a screen shot of the player with loaded multiple playlists, oh yeah, I forgot to mentio you can creaste/edit multiple playlists at the same time, includeding dragging and dropping from one to the other(s). Also, I created a wizard which will convert your albums directly to a playlist, and create custom albums in the works as well. I will release it soon don't worry. I am just tired. As you can see you can edit the playlist titles in place by double clicking the tab. There are not any entries in the playlists cause I am on my out the door.

Hey everbody. I am almost ready to post the Beta Version 1. I just have a couple of little things left to do. I am including some screen shots again .The first set show conversion of an album to a playlist, the second set show auto playlist generation by year (in this case "The 90's"), the third set shows auto playlist generation by genre (in this case "Rock"). Hopefully I will be able to post it tommorrow before I leave work. I like it. It works good. Enumeration still takes a bit of time, but no where near as much time as it origionally did. This problem has to do with the Interop that microsoft generates during the importing of the dlls into visual studio IDE. I am going to manually fix them after I release the BEta Version 2. But for now it still works quite well. As you can see it is nearing completion. I fixed alot of stupid logic errors and spelling mistakes (as you all know I suck at spelling. Ha Ha Ha Ha!) Converting playlists to albums take a bit more time so it will not be available until beta version 2. I am also planning on including a designer for slide shows, video playlists and mixed content playlists. Until tomorrow, have fun!

Here are the remaining three images showing playlist generation by genre (I could only post 5 images at a time.)
