Deep, if your 1.09 firmware doesnt work, skip to 4.03 then 4.06. That's what i did when i got my K3

Hi, i found two big bugs/problems in v4.06 for K3:

1/ Setting of any equalizer has no effect for the sound. It sounds same on every choose. The equalizer is indicated and but sounds same for Normal/Rock/... etc.

2/ After powering on the player is the soundvolume much higher then before powering the player off. I must go to the soundeffect menu and after choosing any equalizer the sound goes down. Without any sound effect

(Made upgrade 1.04->1.09->4.03->4.06)

Have you found this problems too? Any solution?

you have to save your eq settings: during the eq-setting press the centerbutton an choose yes

Yes, I know this - I'm not newbie wit K3...
But in v4.03 is all ok. Only v4.06 has this bugs.

maybe you did something wrong, because if the eq setting isnt working for you then " I'm not newbie wit K3..." is not true

in my K3 whenever i change the settings, they alway change to whatever i want

I know it's curious, but:

Upgrade 1.04->1.09->4.03->4.06 evolved both problems. After it I downgraded to v 4.03 and it resolved both problems. Now I stay by this version and will wait for the next firmware from Samsung.

maybe try to downgrade all the way to 1.04 then jump 4.03 then 4.06??

Just to let you know I fixed my K3 up to 4.06. I guess it was something to do with my computer because I was fine to upload to a data directory at university.

To Viking : in reply to your comment that changing the equalizer settings doesn't change the sound, under firmware v.4.06 >> changing the equalizer settings only changes the sound for the "USER" setting. So if you want to use the equalizer, use it in conjunction with the "USER" setting. Equalizer adjustments have no effect on other settings such as NORMAL/ROCK/CLASSICAL/BALLAD/JAZZ/R&B etc. I have manage to get a very nice rich sound under USER by tweaking the equalizer and with the 3D control level at 2 and Bass control at 3. I also find the R&B and JAZZ setting to be very good for most types of music ... but that's personal preference of course ...

To Kimotheraphy: Much thanks for your response and effort to help, but there's really not my problem - well, I verified it in the 4.03 version, where all the eq-settings work ok (also the customizable eq). The same worked not in v4.06, it's really so, I know it sounds oddly... Maybe the reason is that I made a softreset after the complete (rom&img) upgrade, but didn't make anything with the equalizer settings. After the softreset and "About" versiontesting I made the v4.06 upgrade and as I write - the eq-settings had really no effect.
After this and no solution from this forum I made a downgrade to v4.03, all works ok. Because this eq-presets are suitable for me, so I keep this version and look forward for next Samsung UMS firmware...

BTW, version 3.05 for MTP-mode was released - it has the same eq-presets as v4.06 and also 3 color versions. But UMS version is really much better...

all the bugs what u writed about k3 v4.06 Im not found really have i another K3 like you or ... dunno.Ur K3 sucks or u haven"t 4.06, i am rly contend with 4.06 i have no found some bugs for some 4 months i think :P
