It sounds slick....After you download a song, or what not, does the service, and the unit allow you to make back up copies, and what not?

yeah i bought two of them...
I dont know... i think it depends on Yahoo! Music Unlimited... i have not yet played around with the computer end of the software... but my guess is no since it is all DRMed... My initial opintions after a few days of use is that it pretty much kicks ass for the mainstream music lover (although i was able to find some more off the path Hardcore/Breaks/Tech House stuff, so i dont know if i would call it all "main stream" music)... the disappointment for me is the sound quality... but i have to still do some official testing with higher bitrate files and the HD650's |

yeah, the ipod nano is officially WAY behind the times now. This thing is gonna rock. Just get that flash memory up to 12 gb, ad video, and it will be the best flash player ever. I'm interested to see how it will stack up to that new "slacker" player though. That thing looks pretty sweet as well.

What a cool system, and congrats...
BTW, does this play video and games? And does it have radio? I'm too lazy to go check it right now, or maybe I will... |

too bad it doesn't support SDHC.
also, there's no way you can transfer the song to the card using the player. You should use a card reader if you want to do that.If there's any SanDisk people listening here, may I suggest please add IM function to the device. I'm signed in yahoo but I can't send any msgs. |

This is something i discussed with SanDisk, and they have no plans to add IMing function. It is just not practical on this type of device considering the tedious text input method.

I think i had a bad connection in my headphones... because its a pretty average sounding player after i had a chance to listen to it for some time... however... im going to do some serious testing with 320kbps files...

I went to Circuit City tonight and checked this thig out. THey had a WiFi connection setup but it didn't have Yahoo unlimited, so I could only listen to internet radio and not download any songs.
The thing is pretty sweet. Internet radio was a snap to connect to. It looked like downloading songs would also be a breeze. The speaker on the back sounded like crap, but in a pinch to share some music with someone, it'd be fine. If I ever get fed-up with XM radio and the Sirius merger and/or slacker doesn't come out with somethre really really cool, I can see myself getting one of these once it has a bit more memory. The interface was so easy to use too. |

I haven't received mine yet and after ordering it I read in the online manual that it will only play MP3s up to 192kbps. Hope it's wrong. |

Answers to a couple Q's from above. Songs you download from Yahoo music unlimited to go will have a 30 day renewable drm time limit. It's Yahoos way to keep you as a subscriber. You can also purchase the song from them and skip the renewal part.
As for audio quality it sounds pretty good with a high bit rate and a good quality set of headphones. It can play video clips movies etc... With the new firmware update they came out with it is video capable. I have the movie 300 on it now that I'm half way through watching. Have not found out yet if it will play any games. With the new firmware it now supports SDHC, up to a 8gb SDHC card as of right now. I currently have a 4gb SDHC card in it. But with a 8gb SDHC card you total capacity would be sitting at 12gigs. No IM function yet. Would be nice though. One thing it doesn't have that I hope the next firmware will address is a digital FM tuner. |

Can you purchase the song directly from the Connect? Or do you have to do it via a web browser or something like Yahoo Jukebox? Thanks.

I don't see an option for purchase except through YMJ.
