Are you just looking at the battery meter? It is inaccurate. You should get between 12 to 16 hrs.

This is because not all of the hardware have been figured out yet (this goes for all Portalplayer devices). On targets where the hardware is know, Rockbox actually have longer battery life.

It looks like the file wasn't extracted properly- try extracting it again. You will end up with a "/.rockbox" directory on your player. The rockbox.mi4 file is located there.

Charles:

I have tried doing so.. but, for some reason it deletes the period in the directory making it only Rockbox because having the period is an invalid name

Safely removing the device will sync any changed that haven't been written to disc. If you just unplug it, you might end up with a corrupt filesystem.

What are you using to extract it? The period is essential or else it wouldn't work. Have you tried to rename the directory after extracting it?

Don't know, I don't use Vista or Windows really. What happens when you try to rename it? Also make sure your Explorer is set to show file extensions or else you might now be able to see it. You might also want to try another program such as winzip, winrar, 7zip, etc.

Open up a DOS Window now type:
  1. <your_sansa_drive_letter>: (e,g., D: )
  2. mkdir .rockbox

Now copy the files to the .rockbox directory. Alternatively try another file manager.

Don't forget to rename ".rockbox/sample.custom_menu.config" to ".rockbox/custom_menu.config" or else you will get a data abort if you long press on select.
