Thanks for the tip, phillight; and thanks for the patch. I was looking forward to dicache and tagscache to be reenabled again.

I actually never use it. I only included it because someone requested one and that one has the most feature. If you like, I will add the calendar button plugin too.

And a big thank you to all of rockbox's contributors and patch-writers.
I second that and don't forget to thank all the developers too.

Am i doing something wrong or is there something in the new build that conflicting with this?
I will try to track down the problem- I might have done something wrong when updating the wps patches. Those patches gets out of sync really quickly and it is not all that fun to maintain.

In this release I mainly focused on getting the full "Recording Enhancement pack" updated.

Well. It sure is great to have that feature back (espcially for the DB). So thank you.

No problem. You should know by now that I tend to concentrate on usability patches.

Thanks for the latest build; it's very very nice, except for the fact that if you hold down the center button for just two seconds, you can freeze the Sansa...I wonder if it's that easy...still, the update seemed to enhance the sound quality significantly, so I just need to be light on the buttons.

Lastly, Seeking for WMA files would be nice.

This is because you don't have a "custom quick menu" config file. You can just rename ".rockbox/sample.custom_menu.config" to "custom_menu.config"" as a starting point.

Here is the excerpt from my first post:

Quote:
cpchan_quick_menu.patch: Preliminary adaptation of the user definable " Quick Menu" patch. Instead of an extra menu item like in the original patch. The "Quick Menu" is accessed with a "Long Select" from the "Main Menu", WPS, and "Directory Browser". For first time users, please rename ".rockbox/sample.custom_menu.config" to "custom_menu.config". To learn about how to customize the menu please read the comments in its configuration file ".rockbox/custom_menu.config" for details. This will be extented to other screens.

Lastly, Seeking for WMA files would be nice.
Be petient. There will be a lot of improvement once the code from the "Google Summer of Code" is merged.

with your custom quick menu patch, how would i add something like database?
i tried just typing database in the custom menu file. ive managed to add brightness but it seems like anything i add thats not in the config.cfg file wont show up.

Yes, the custom menu is only for anything in the settings menus right now. However, I plan to extend the "Configurable REC button" ("Settings-> "General Settings"-> "System"-> "Button Config"), which is part of the "Recording Enhancement Pack", to include the database.

Yes, that was part of the SVN cleanup.

Thanks for the build, but i have a problem.

I downloaded yesterday evening your Rockbox-Build and copied it on my Sansa (before i had installed a official build).

When i try to start Rockbox now, the following error occurs:
Quote:
Undefined instruction
at 00087740
I don't know where the problem is - do i have to delete some files before copying your build on my Sansa?

Now I am not at home, so I am not able to test your latest build.

THANKS

That should work- I don't know what happened there. You best bet is to do a clean installation by deleting the ".rockbox" directory (folder) and unzip the file again to the player. Also after unzipping, don't forget to rename ".rockbox/sample.custom_menu.config" to "custom_menu.config".

Thanks for the quick reply!
I will backup my config and then delete the rockbox-folder and install the newest build from you when I am at home.

I will post if I was successfull ;-)

Now i have downloaded the newest Build and it worked. Then i wanted to copy my config in the folder but then the same error occured.

Now i have found a solution:
I have to delete the config.cfg and start RockBox one time, then i can load my config and after that it works...

Here is the "old" config which doesn't work if the name is config.cfg at first start:
Code:
# .cfg file created by rockbox r14284M-070812 - http://www.rockbox.org

repeat: off
backlight timeout: 10
statusbar: off
volume display: numeric
backlight filters first keypress: on
brightness: 4
scroll delay: 700
foreground color: FFFFFF
volume fade: off
recursive directory insert: ask
talk menu: off
folder navigation: on
gather runtime data: on
eq precut: 45
eq band 0 gain: 25
eq band 1 gain: 10
eq band 3 gain: 20
eq band 4 gain: 45
tagcache_autoupdate: on
Last.fm Logging: on
fmr: /.rockbox/fmpresets/Vienna.fmr
font: /.rockbox/fonts/nimbus-12.fnt
wps: /.rockbox/wps/COWON.wps
lang: /.rockbox/langs/deutsch.lng
backdrop: /.rockbox/backdrops/COWON.bmp
usb charging: on
start in screen: previous
iconset: /.rockbox/icons/buuf-blue.bmp
viewers iconset: /.rockbox/icons/buuf-bluev.bmp
button light timeout: off
I don't know where there is the problem in my config, but now it works

Strange, I have no idea what went wrong (I have installed current builds on top of my builds before). However, I am glad that you got it working.

Thank you very much for this amazing build of RB, your badline patch was a lifesaver. I do however have 2 questions.
1. the bad line still exsist in my original fw. anyways to fix this problem? Thought about reloading the original fw didn't know if it will conflict with ur sansapatcher.exe command.
2. Some rolling changing text along the linese of (&%58m) appears under my play button on the music playing screen. Which option do i need to disable to get rid of them?
Once again thanks a million for all ur hardwork, ppl like you make the tech community a wonderful place!

This would probably fix it:

First you need to tell us what theme/wps you are using.

thx for the reply
i did use the bootloaders provided, ran the command too. a question tho, I used the PP5022.mi4 file included in the folder. did i have to use my own PP5022mi4?
as the the random text problem, it occurs with dockpod aqua all colours. i just decided to use another theme. sector.. it's amazing
