This is really strange since we both have the new Sansa hardware version. I don't know why it is not working for you.

I don't have any problems anymore. This is one of the most stable builds. I don't have a MicroSD card though. No melting sceen, no lag, no nothing. Simply perfect.

cpchan - Which model do you have? I don't know if it'd make a difference, but since the e250 has two 1 GB chips on the daughterboard (why?) it may be what's the problem. Not to mention all the problems people have with the 1 GB MicroSD chips

A brief test (2 minutes) of your build from "Monday, June 18, 2007 at 18:08:46 UTC" seems to be fine: I can access my 2GB microSD card and ALSO play videos from it. I'm pretty sure I have one of the older e280s and I'm using a SanDisk 2GB microSD card.

I need to find someone with the newer Sansa and an e250 and have them test it and see what happens. I sort of think the reason it won't work is because of the two 1GB chips

It could be. stuibb have an e250 too and is having problems. However, he can boot to Rockbox with my build.

I can boot yes CPchan but I still get crashes, Any idea what they did that's causing so many issues all of a sudden?, as the previous builds run without any problems whatsoever

There has been a lot of changes under the hood and the bugs have not been worked out:

• Unification of the audio codec driver in Rockbox.
  
• The new GPIO code for the Sansa.
  
• The new Radio code for the Sansa.
  
• The MicroSD card patch.

etc.

The strange thing is that not everyone are having problems. I personal have not had a crash or lock up.

I am using both 2gig and 1gig micro SD cards, both run smoothly with today's built. I have e260.

You want a crash eh? Using KratoSky2 (or any theme with statusbar: off) go to Settings -> Recording Settings -> Trigger to uhh...trigger a data abort :P

On an unrelated note: any idea whether the select button (when used in the WPS) could be remapped to opening up the database instead of the file browser? Is it an option somewhere?

I really love your custom builds by the way. I almost bought a Zune just after I first found rockbox, but the constant development of rockbox and other builds really keeps me interested, so I decided to stick with the Sansa.

I had my Sansa sitting around doing nothing for about a year, now I have it with me all the time.

Not without changing the code. You might want to submit a feature request to have this as an option. However, if your directory tree is organized sanely like:

Artist

Album

Tracks

or

Genre

Artist

Album

Tracks

it will just show the tracks in that album.

Yes Rockbox, like most Open Source projects, is constantly changing.

I had my Sansa sitting around doing nothing for about a year, now I have it with me all the time.

In other words, you unbricked your Sansa.

With the latest microSD patches the problems with my 1GB MicroSD card are gone
Well I did not use this build that long, but it seems a lot more stable than the last one. No crashes at all till now.

Some people said that SDCard Error 10 was gone, so I'm hoping it works. Otherwise I may have a hard time preventing it from getting commited.
