I suspect either something have changed in SVN or the multifont patch which is the only new patch.

could be ... but the strange thing is, that your version is not working for me since 0705031 and jac0b's latest build shows 070601 as build date(version)

im loving everything in your builds charles, this is too good to be true. awesome stuff

the new doom controls are good IMO, but the only complaint i have is, to turn in-game you have to do alot of wheel scrolling. if you could make it more sensitive, let's say...a full rotation and you've done a 180 degree turn in game, i'd say it'd be perfect.

OK, just tested it out with a current build and it is showing the same thing. However, I found a patch to make it more accurate. It will be in the next build.

I do believe he is asking whether installing your build will wipe all of the current files on his player (so pretty much: "Will it format my player?"). The answer: No.

Simply download the zip files and save them to your desktop or another file location you can find them easily. Then use whatever .zip program you have to Extract the files (Right click the .zip files and select "Extract All...) to the root directory of your Sansa. (Example: D:\) If it asks you whether you would like to replace any files, answer "Yes to All." This will update your old version of Rockbox to CPChan's spiffy version without wiping any of your old files

(Note: this is all assuming you've allready installed another version of Rockbox... And that you're on a Windows OS)

The story so far:

Using cpchan's latest build, 2 out of 3 times when I try to play an mpeg file, I got a Prefetch Abort.
If I remember correctly, the exact error message was

Prefetch Abort at C0EDBABE

It was always exactly the same error message.

I then completely removed the .rockbox folder from my Sansa and made a clean reinstall of cpchan's latest build.
Now _every_ time I tried to play an mpeg file all I got was

*PANIC*
stkov main

I then installed an official current build from rockbox SVN (without removing the .rockbox folder first, though). Mpeg playback was working flawlessly again.
Then I copied cpchan's build back (again without removing the entire folder first) and now I'm basically back to where I started from. I still get the very frequent Prefetch Aborts, but no stkovs anymore.

The Mpeg files I'm trying to play are stored on the player's internal flash memory (not a microSD card) in the folder /VIDEOS.

Are you sure that there are no filesystem errors. Have you tried running a chkdsk/scandisk?

Am I the only one having Doom control problems with the latest build?
The controls are nothing like what's described on the first page of this thread, and changing them in options doesn't work.....???
