Thanks for the MpegPlayer update, Charles.

One suggestion:
Use box.net as a place to post the zip file. It's much more convenient (not having to unzip two files) and you could always update it there. I think it has a 10GB bandwidth.

My player doesn't find videos. There are videos in M:\videos (where M is my player). Even the original firmware shows the videos (it shows the 3 that are in .mov), and Rockbox doesn't show anyone, neither the 3 .movs, nor the 1 .mpg :O

how much does this patch extend battery life? Does it exceed the manufacturer's rated battery life with the native firmware? I've previously read that rockbox was not reducing the battery life to any major degree, is this right?

Well, according to http://www.rockbox.org/twiki/bin/vie...ryMeasurements the Sansa's runtime with RockBox is around 11 hours. That patch says current is reduced from 65mA to 45mA. 11 hours @ 65mA is equivalent to 15.89 hours @ 45mA.

I'm not really sure if I did the calculations right, but If i'm correct, runtime is extended from 11 hours to about 16 hours.

Which is a pretty nice boost. About as much life as I get in the OF anyway.
This life bests all the other Portal Player devices.

In Windows make sure your video directory is not set to hidden.

After the update, some of the menu items appear switched and my database has been destroyed...
edit: and the music player and plugins returns some strange archaic error message.

Strange, no problems here.

No problems here. Try resetting your player by holding the on/off button for ~15 seconds.

I have been asked to include this patch for the keys in Doom. Since this is rather a big change in the key bindings and since it will requires some manual patching with the current SVN, I would like to know if other people would like it?
