Well, the SVN of the Mai 19th data abort'ed.
The SVN Mai 14th crashed once, but much later (50 seconds, instead of 10 after the track started). After a restart I could listen to 1 song, then I shut down the player. Using your previous build without radio now, seems to work fine, as it allways did. |

Umm why do you say Mai? I assume you mean May, and I know that's what it is in French
But if you are typing in English for the rest of your post, why are you intentionally typing Mai?

Hmm sorry, of course it wasn't my intention to type Mai, I just allways forget that it is May in english (in German, which is my origin, as well as in French it is Mai). I'm going to take more attention on the May now
.Back to my problem, I reported the bug now: http://www.rockbox.org/tracker/task/7211 |

Just as a note, an API is NOT strictly an interface for interfacing with hardware. See http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/API if you need more information, but it relates to one part of a program talking with either another part, or another program.
This can be a list of functions to tell the hardware what to do, or a list of functions to ask the kernel to do things, or a variety of other things. If a change is in truth only a change to the API, it should not affect sound quality, as all it does is change how you ask one thing to do things, not the things that you can ask it to do. So please, don't get indignant about someone's response without doing some proper research first. If you go and read about the purpose of the Audio Hardware API patch, its purpose specifically is to abstract the access to audio hardware so that it's more similar across targets. Basically code cleanup, rather than a functionality change. |

I've had the constant data aborts too. Reinstalling bootloader and several different builds of rockbox didn't help. Here's how I fixed it:
Changed theme - reboot Start playing a song - reboot I had to do both things very fast to avoid the data abort, but it solved the problem. I've heard of others who solved it simply by rebooting quickly the first time they turned on player after an update. |

It seems the abort only appears when there is no config.cfg file in the rockbox folder.
so 1) create an empty config.cfg file or 2) change any setting (like volume) etc.. don't play music and reboot. |

Is the Doom issue fixed on this build yet? If not, that would be awesome if you could update it.
