Can this be reproduced in a predictable way? To tell you the truth I only load a couple of videos on my e280 for testing purposes. I much prefer watching XVid videos on my Palm TX (320 x 480 screen size).

I don't know. I hardly watch vids on the sansa also. But my bet is that it is related to the font. I can change fonts and see if it goes away, I suppose.

yes, by changing fonts or changing themes I was able to reproduce the issue of the font not looking right in the mpeg player...what determines the font in the mpeg player?
I only define the WPS and menufont in my theme.

Hey Charles, i was looking for a build that enables changing
the splash screen, and i found your build, but, im still not sure, how do i change the splash screen?
also, when i try to go forward, backward or stop, while playing a video, my sansa freezes completely (i gotta reset) always,
its not random... it also happens when i change the volume. help me

It does but you have to download and install the plugin.

I looked at the Rockbox manual vs what we have in this build and I see a Record Repeat Timer in this build, but not in the manual.

What is that? If I record once, I then set that, so that from then on, it'll record at a certain interval, since the time I just recorded?

Is there a way (or a patch to be included) to record by time of day? That is, record a show at 5:30 AM, every day (preferrably, every weekday), for 15 minutes, so that I can record a show instead of waking up to listen?

Assuming that you have installed both zip files as instructed in the first post, all you have to do is to navigate to a jpeg file in the file browser and select it.

Hmm... Was the mpegplayer and mutifont patch problem fixed? Mine still crash whenever I tried to call up the navigation bar... Was there I fix to this problem that I've missed?

To get to the menu option to turn on Custom Splash Screen, go:
Rockbox -> Settings -> Theme Settings -> Configure Splash Screen
i recommend the "On" setting, the other settings add a delay to the boot up, so unless you really want to see your picture for longer than a second, use "On".
Then navigate to the .bmp that you want to use and enter context menu and select "Set as Splash Screen"

thanks, so thats for the splash screen.... but the problems with the mpeg player still exists

This is really strange. I have no problems using the navigation bar. Does it just crash for you or is that an error message?

Strange, I have no freezes at all. Can you try doing a fresh installation? Also, I will be syncing a version and doing some bug fixing tomorrow, you might want to wait for that.

I have read (in the comments to the german news for sansalinux http://www.pro-linux.de/news/2008/12537.html ), that it is possible to activate USB in sansa-rockbox. It is said to be experimental, but does seem to work (even not with HiSpeed, but with FullSpeed).

Do you know the status if this feature? Would it be an idea to include this, so cpchan-rockbox-users could test/use it?

Hmm, ok. I think, I now have found the patch:
