yo umm dude, I found my player after it was lost for a month and enjoyed your build. I thought because it was so good I'd update it. I re-downloaded on your page and now none of my special themes that previously worked with your build dont. plus the mpeg player is, well, not there.

anyway to properly install it or did I DL the wrong item on your download menu.(.rockbox) (what should I DL off it)

There IS for sure mpgplayer in cpchan build.
You should read about "VIEWPORTS" - it will make clear to you why some themes may not work.
First make clean installation then check everything again.
For download use "rockobx.zip" or "rockbox_cpchan_menu.zip"

USB Support is usable as far as I understand it, I would really like to test it, but I can't compile it for myself

Major USB stack improvements. It now works at nearly the maximum speed for a full speed connection, and does seem stable.
Still not enabled by default, #define USE_ROCKBOX_USB is still required to enable it.

neither of them work with the current build of cpchan, anyone know how to fix this?

Got your build because of the theme, and love it. It fixes problems i had with the standard RockBox release. thanx for your work.

Update: Tried several other themes, and they have same problem shows a plain bar instead of the graphics the preview pics show. Not sure what is set wrong to fix this.

I suppose the themes that don't work don't use viewports

afaik the only downside is the transfer speed, Frank Gevaerts said (irc log) that it wont be possible to take advantage of the high speed capacity without reverse engineer the OF. Making usb speed via rockbox considerably slower than it potentially could be...

Anyways, excellent work by him and the rest of the rockbox development crew. Im looking forward to use my sansa e270 completely without the OF

arg I tried Kugel's build and get the same problem where it doesn't show the graphics, just real simple system style display even with the default themes he has installed so it must be me doing something wrong. Anyone have any ideas?

yeah, you added the fade in/out for the LCD, but there's no way to turn it off, is there? i didn't find it in the settings, so would you please put an option to turn it off in the next update?

like Benjamin_L said, the Barracuda WPS (among others) do not use the recent Viewports patch/rely on removed patches. When you try to use a theme like that, Rockbox defaults to the hardcoded WPS which is graphically simple. To get the Barracuda theme working, you either need to port it to Viewports, or find someone to do it/wait for someone to do it. I'd take a shot at it, but im a little busy right now, so maybe on the weekend (if im lucky).

ps. which version do you prefer? AA or non?

yea, no problem. AFAIK there isnt a guide about how to port themes to Viewports, but if you look on the RB wiki for WPS tags you can find out what they do...dunno if that helps
