When i first got my K5, it would not work untill i upgraded my wmp.
I alread had wmp11 but there was a newer version of it, so i downloaded it and it worked.
Try to update it.
With the new firmwares you dont have to worry about that crap
also you can download mediastudio from samsung site

if it recognises it in windows explorer you can just manually copy the mp3s to the device. i never use the program, it sucks.

Default I feel your pain.

famzilla, sounds like I have the same problem. I hav just posted a thread 'K5 - XP 'cant install new hardware'. My laptop will not work with the K5. WMP 11 doesn't acknowledge it and it does not appear in My Computer as an extra drive. Have you solved your problem? I searched for hours on the internet. It doesn't seem many people have this problem and the only solution offered is to make sure you have WMP 11 which hasn't helped u or me. Did you try your K5 on someone elses XP machine, it might help show whether problem is down to your computer/software installations or the K5 unit. I have yet to do this.

Make sure you have a UMS firmware installed, and, please watch the language before you get a warning from a mod...
