Default zen V Plus is not connected

Hey, I just got a zen VPlus. I connected it to my Dell Inspiron 1800, with Windows XP 2, downloaded all the creative stuff that came on the CD, opened up to Rhapsody, and it says that there is no device connected. In addition, I opened up the Zen media player icon on "My Computer" and it says that nothing is connected. I have the Zen connected by the USB cord given. Question: Is the reason its not connecting b/c my Dell could have the old 1.1 ports as opposed to the new high-speed 2.0's?

No it works with them both, needs time to charge, and maybe try another usb port that you know works.
