Weird. I have not ran into this.

Could you try the e200tool on your Sansa?

Looks risky, I'm not too tech savvy but I'll try it...

Yea, you could not make it any worse. The e200 series is hard to brick unless you have a hardware issue.

Ok- can you fix this? If you can't then I will have to turn to the iPod touch... yikes. So here's what happened- I turned on my sansa and wanted to sync a song to it but for some reason it [my computer] doesn't recognize it. I try MSC Mode and it does the same thing. I restart it and plug it in but this time it doesn't even see the Sansa. I try to put the mi4 file on it and it won't go on the mp3's memory!
Please help!!

Haha, oh noes! Don't do that! Lol.
Hmmm...did you put your device in recovery mode before trying to put the .mi4 on it?
By the way, do you have an AIM or MSN screen name?

Yeah- It was in recovery mode. My computer told me that E:/ reffered to an unknown location, but I redid it and that time I could save a .fmt file to it, even though it was in E:/. It formatted and then... killed itself. Seriously. Now it's the blue wheel of death because it can't go into recovery mode, the normal firmware, or even manufacturing mode! Possible to fix? I'm starting to doubt it...

The blue wheel with nothing on the screen is most likely manufacturer mode. You will need to you the e200tool in Linux to fix it now.

Cool It really works!?!?!

THANK YOU! It does work. I tried a lot of things and now I feel like never installing rockbox myself. To whoever sees this: He's a genius and it really does work. To muffinzrock: I am sending the link to a lot of different places because I promised myself I would. Thanks again dude.

You're very welcome. I'm really glad it helped you out! I know how frustrating it can be when something goes wrong and you have no idea how to fix it. Not fun.

Try switching it to MSC mode.
Settings/USB mode/MSC

Hmm... you're not in recovery mode, right?
If you're not, try formatting your sansa with the default settings.
I think drive I is the microSD slot, by the way.

No, you don't have to yet. Just try formatting it first in normal mode.

Oh, yeah. Sorry.
Okay, we'll try recovery mode. The steps are on the first page of the thread we're in now:
