The "J" yoke is the one that's uneven and almost impossible to wear over ears the way I prefer. The "Y" yoke has even lengths coming off the splitter.

well i put the cable over my ear and it seems to work fine. the earbuds look like the ones in the second picture

IMO the word "yoke" can be confusing you should be using J-style cable VS Y-style cable and it's easier to understand. That said, I agree with skip, I'm even more anal about it, I hate J-style cables and avoid them like a lethal plague. They just don't work how I like to wear over the ear either ...

While I haven’t heard the m6 or the m21 the two best I’ve heard of 4 types from MEE are the a151s and the a161P, blow away all the other MEEs I tested. That said, I liked the m31s in the cheaper models they offer.

so thinking of getting a tablet eventually. would i be better off with the kindle fire hd or the nexus 7? i have an e-ink kindle as well but my prime subscription recently expired.

Did you Rockbox either one of those iPods? My mini is 32gb & Rockboxed, and I have an iPod video on the way from a trade (already Rockboxed!!!). Even the classic can be Rockboxed @freemyipod.org.

Thanks! Yes, the mini and Classic are/were Rockboxed! My mini also had a 32GB CF card, but it was so slow due to the FLAC songs and slow read/write speed of the card that I took the card out and gave the rest to a friend to try and fix his Mini.

I just got the Classic a few days ago and immediately Rockboxed it. iTunes is the #1 program on my list of programs that will never be downloaded to my computer. Plus I can't stand the stock UI vs Rockbox.
