Nothin' beats this (pun intended). My Tonium Pacemaker, 120Gb of twin-player greatness. ![]() Here it is in close-up: ![]() It is almost exactly the same size as a PSP, so both the soft sleeve and watertight case are PSP accessories. I bought it cheap on eBay, second-hand, and after a bit of a scare when I'd only had it a few months it has been faultless for more than two years now. Mind you, since I got my ZuneHD, it has only had minimal use but my Zune's touchscreen has been playing up a bit lately, so I've been using the Pacemaker a lot more recently. The editor is a bit lame when it comes to managing 8000 songs but once you get them onto the device, it is an absolute joy to use, either as a DJ device or just as a player. I still want to get my Zune fixed, though.

![]() I've got the tips from my busted XePort 3010-2's on the E10's, and they're about as perfect as they can get, IMO. Oh, and Poweramp is awesome!

Its pretty good. If I A/B them on my AudioEngine 2s, it is stronger in the mids, but probably not quite as detailed, and it has a really crisp bottom end. Overall, it sounds fuller than the ZuneHD but, as a musician/producer, I prefer the Zune's more detailed sound.
You also get 3-band EQ and other DJ-style effects, which is handy. It is certainly louder and it is incredibly easy to use. There is almost no diving through menus, everything is just a tap and a swipe or two away. Even with more than 8000 songs loaded onto it, finding things is dead-easy. The guy who invented it did it as his PhD thesis on human-machine interfaces, so that is definitely its strongest area. As an overall package though, it is very hard to fault it at all. It is beautifully made and seems very robust. Battery life on mine is probably not what it could be for a portable player but mine is going on for 4 years old now, so some drop-off is to be expected. I should probably do a full review of it. |

Y'know, it's incredible. Why would Creative make the NJB3 with a form factor of a portable CD player? And some "audiophiles" in China are playing several thousand Yuan for one such unit in good condition. Also Rio Karma.
It's insane.

I picked that up at a gargae sale for $15.00 in 2008. It worked perfectly, so I figured What the hell, if anything, it's a great conversation starter.

Looks like a nice durable cable connection there, and the matching hard case is sweet too. How do they sound?

They are very, very, very flat sounding. I'd say they sound like a Sennheiser HD600 but just a tad brighter. They have those trademark Beyerdynamic sparkly highs, but not to the extent that the DT880 has them. They are fantastic but hard to drive (250Ohm version).

Does your scroll wheel work right? The single element most prone to crapping out (aside from the HDD) on an NJB3 is the scroll wheel.

Works like a charm. It's actually a decent sounding player. The BBE enhancements work suprisingly well.
