How much does poweramp cost? I'm usign it on my samsung galaxy player now it sounds very good but it is only s trial I don't even know how long the trial is for.

Samsung's stock music app isn't bad either I just upgraded from an ipod touch to the SGP 4.0. It would be very nice if the wifi wasn't so finicky I think it may be my routers fault not sure yet though

android app. I don't think they will ever make an app for ipod. I didn't know there were any 3rd party music player apps for the ipod until recently. Do they stay running if you leave and go to another app?

If he is receding to marvins post it is an itouch/iPhone aka iOS app. I've been Playing with it and love having an awesome eq now. It does run in the background perfectly. The only thing I dislike is the artist view, it lumps all albums under artist one after the other instead of being able to choose a specific album.

I have three different ones for my iPod touch, one of which is this one below Sonic Max-Pro.....the other two are called Equalizer and EQu.

I also use music+ which has a wicked queueing system in addition to last.fm live scrobblin.

I think i will be using BBE for the foreseeable future though.

do you still have to use itunes to sync with these other music apps? I doubt any of these apps will run on a 2g ipod touch will they?

I'm starting to think this forum is becoming a littly hypocritical what with all the ipod discussion.


Also @ marvin's post: I think we can still reserve our right to hate apple for the reason they do not include such an app as their music player. Many people will be missing out and not achieving their ipods full potential

I agree - keep the hate to yourself. We never said this was an Apple haters forum, we said it was about ALTERNATIVES to the iPod. The difference is we're adult enough to believe that the right device is the device that's right for you - EVEN IF IT IS AN IPOD. If that's a problem for you mikee, you could always move to another forum.

it has always beens aid that this is a site that is dedicated to giving attention to alternatives to apple products. It is not an iPod hate club. There are circumstances that make an iPod an ideal choice. I know i just hate it when people don't consider any other options and make blind purchases because the commercials are cool or they just don't know any better. Also iPod products have gotten better. Not perfect but better for sure.

ok yeah I get that. I just had an experience a while back like last year where I posted a pic of all my stuff which included an ipod touch and people gave me crap about it. But yeah I have to say the term iPod is thrown around like jello where someone goes to a store and says they are looking for an iPod when they really mean an mp3 player and as a result the sales person points them to the actual ipods vs mp3 players they may actually enjoy more
