I'd say buying a D2 you should at least have something decent even starting with cheap iems like the marshmallows. It kinda kills it it's like buying a high end car and getting a crappy engine or hub caps or getting a nice computer and getting dial-up.

Yessir! I love my KRK's. Although they're not extremely powerful at the Bass end, they are great studio monitor speakers.

Oooooh boy, now that's the right stuff! I'm glad you got a camera now, to share the goodness.

Those are definitely the best looking phones available at the moment. I wish I knew how they sound...

I've been using them a lot lately, but not to listen to rock and metal. A few of my rock albums sound great with them, but not all. I'm using them to listen to accoustic music (some rock, but mostly MPB - Brazilian Popular Music), jazz and electronic (lounge-y stuff, trip-hop and some other related sub-genres). Tracks with male vocals soung amazing, and female vocals sound heavenly with them.

They're not basshead cans, but they work very well with Mach3Bass and the Corda Move. The bass is very clean and deep. Mids are luxurious (too much for most rock and metal albums), and the highs work very well (neither lacking nor sibilant).

I wish I could share the sound, not only the pics!

Edit: Porcupine Tree's "In Absentia" sounds great with them (there's a good deal of accoustic guitar in the tracks ).

Heh, it's difficult not to, although the Sansa has a sleek design, IMO. Welcome to the club!

and btw seeing that you're from Germany I must say I like Rammstein a lot and their stuff sounds really good with the machbass on the D2.
