I have no idea how to use my Lumix LZ-5. It's my ebay/facebook camera.

The Lumix LZ5 does have a proper macro mode... just check the settings.

For flash replacement, turn the ISO to 800 or 1600... better to have some grain in the images than being all blurry.

I happen to have a Lumix LZ-5. For macro mode, slide the mode switch to the position with the flower icon. Since using flash is generally inadvisable for macro shots, turn flash off using the right-arrow button until the crossed-out lightning bolt shows on the screen. You may need to use a tripod for these kind of shots, though.

I would say a combination of macro mode and faster shutter speed would do the trick.

macro mode only sets the focus range, he'd still need to actually focus and not just press randomly, but ok: macro mode

Judging by my usage patterns, this seems to be my favorite setup at the moment:

Sure is a colorful rig, as long as you count black and silver.

In addition I would like to ask, what does it do ? Please don't shoot me for asking this but does it only boost the volume and provide power for the bgger headphones ? Or does it also do something to the sound quality ?

Volume is absolutely not what an amp is about (I listen at very low volume levels) - the D2 itself can drive most lower impedance phones to brain exploding volumes. A dedicated amp fixes many issues with the pathetic amps found in portable players (while I say "pathetic" I still believe the Cowons are some of the better sounding players out there). It improves bass roll-off on all players (except the Sansa Clip, which is linear even with the lowest impedance phones), it fixes the treble harshness in the D2, removes the background hiss, fixes the crosstalk, and widens the soundstage.

Here's how the frequency response and crosstalk looks like, with and without the Headsix: http://rmaa.elektrokrishna.com/Compa...%20Headsix.htm

Jumped on the k518dj from a webshop and cut the cord to 125 cm, so this is my new portable rig (click for BIG):
