Default Sony Walkman Operation Troubleshooting Page - Look here!

The title of this page is:

How to troubleshoot a portable player that is not functioning properly, battery not lasting or does not turn on or off.

Note that this does not deal with any hardware/manufacturing problems or sound problems, just the operation of the Walkman's interface.

My E438F has probably just given up the ghost, with the start screen appearing and disappearing every time I press a button or plug it into USB, but I'm not giving up on it just yet. I'll see whether the proposed solution on this page actually works and post back.

Update: Different solution for E438F found and verified over here.

Turn down the volume when playing music. Your ears will thank you.
