I just upgraded from my HTC Desire to the Samsung Galaxy S II. I know the GSII has been out for a while, but it just came to my carrier. I really prefer HTC and Sense, and was hesitant to do the switch...but I needed a larger screen and (definitely) more storage space. I keep finding lots of little things that were available on Sense but not on the GSII, but I've found some decent apps to help fill the gaps, like Beautiful Widgets and Swiftkey X. I've had the Galaxy Tab for a year and a half, so I'm used to some of the TouchWiz features. Also, I'll be eligible for an upgrade in a year, should my carrier get something comparable from HTC by that time. So far though, I'm really enjoying the large screen, and not having to worry about how much I download and install on it!

Also just updated my old HTC desire to a Samsung Galaxy, but went for the 3rd generation model.
![]() Havn't been too pleased with the selection of phones after the Galaxy Nexus, either its no removable battery, no expandable storage, or that storage isn't swapable during use and worse of all not running ICS. This was the first to hit all the marks and I was done waiting :P So good on you Samsung, you've tricked me back into your consumer base- even though I swore I would never again, after that Omnia I bought. |

Thats my old phone, damn thing would always come un-locked in my pocket and do random things. And it was hard to operate with my gloves on at work.
I have to use CDMA(Verizon) phones though, I don't get service with GSM.

I heard people complain about the LG opening the browser and using up minutes, but I just enabled the lock and I haven't had a problem.

Hah those puny digits are not mine, I just nabbed an image off the net. The Galaxy note fits nicely into the palm of my manly bearpaws, don't you worry about that. I can comfortably (not changing grip or tilting phone) reach all but about a 1 square cm box in the top left corner of the phone. For the folks with smaller hands you can get one handed portrait keyboards that shrink the keyboard down a bit. I'm glad to report that portability isn't a problem, as I was afraid it might be before the purchase. As usual your mileage may vary.
Fits into the inside pocket of my suits, also into the side pocket. Only slight printing when wearing jeans (I have large thighs so this is something that varies greatly depending on your personal size). Invisible in the inside pocket of my overcoat, fits fine in the pocket of my ski jackets. I had a little trouble with some of my pairs of shorts with shallow pockets, it fit fine when walking around and you could hardly tell there was anything there. Sitting down the note would slip out of the shallow, slippery pockets. |
