Default Samsung T9 Help..

I have two computers, one is Ubuntu, one runs Vista 64. I found my old T9 that I had barely used the other day, and am wanting to use it for exercising etc. It has the 1.20 firmware, not sure exactly what model, all it says on the back is YP-T9J. When I plug it into my Linux box, it doesn't recognize it or anything like that. Doesn't mount anywhere. When I plug it into my Vista box, it recognizes it and apparently installed the proper drivers etc, however when I try to access it through Explore, it freezes the explore window and/or nothing ever loads. Windows Media player won't even start up on my computer for some reason :/ I've downloaded the 1.80 firmware and have it ready to install, but I can't get into the Data directory on anything to do so :/ Help?
