Default Headphone jack still having problems

Well, after serving me well since 2004, my Zen Micro's headphone jack finally went. At first it was something that could be fixed by a simple jiggle of the jack. Now it's bad enough that I finally braved it and took my Micro apart. I checked all of the headphone jack's solder points and they're all good. When I put it back together, the sound is working fine except when the jack moves, then there's a slight distortion, like something is wrong with the contact points in the jack itself. Is there any way to resolve this issue?

At this point I'm just curious, since my sound is back. It's still something I'd like to know in case this happens again.
